--The Southern Hemisphere--
Administration
The administrative system of the Southern Hemisphere is a mandatory biannual council, called the South Kibstolya Council, where each state, independent city, or any self-governing entity within the bounds of the Southern Hemisphere must select a given amount of representatives to meet in the South Hall of Castmoore every half year to make important decisions regarding governance and international relations. If a self-governing entity does not make their presence at the South Kibstolya Council or they do not have the correct amount of representatives, they will not get a say in the biannual affairs until they bring their representatives. In this way, conflicts between state borders are not the responsibility of the Council to resolve.
Languages
Kibos/Alos
Kibos, as it is known in the North, and Alos, as it is known in the South, is the common language of all Kibstolya. It is used amongst unfamiliar traders who haven’t learned the tradespeech of each other’s languages and urbanized communities. Kibos/Alos is the most transparent language, having little to no ancestral derivations or history, simply orchestrated to make communicating between tribes and areas easier. Alos’ accent is different from Kibos’, though both languages are written the same way. Alos contains different pronunciations for the words.
Central Alos is a simplified version of Alos that is used in the South to be able to communicate with other states without having to understand a certain Dialect.
Dialected Alos
In the South, there are many different dialects of Alos. It is not impossible for a foreigner to understand a Dialected Alos language from which they are not from, but it is certainly difficult. Each dialect uses similar words, but some may pronounce certain sounds differently, making it difficult for a non Dialect speaker to be able to communicate.
Facilities
Soldieri of the South
The Soldieri of the South is the Southern Hemisphere’s official military, preparing for the return of the intergalactic War of the Monarchs to Kibstolya. Searching for ancient machinery that could potentially be dangerous to the Hemisphere, exploring Kibstolya and uncovering the Second and First Humanity’s technologies, and keeping the civilians that reside in the bounds of the Hemisphere safe and calm are the Soldieri’s main goals. It is an important duty that requires years of training at the Soldieri College. Once a member of a family is initiated into the Soldieri, the Soldier’s family is given permanent rations, a share of money, and enough resources to sustain a Soldier’s family comfortably through life.
Scholarchy of the South
The Scholarly works alongside the Soldieri. However, unlike the Soldieri, the Scholarly spends most of its time studying the Soldieri’s findings, interpreting ancient texts, and enlightening the current world on historical affairs. Like the Soldieri, families of Scholars receive permanent rations, a share of money, and enough resources to sustain a Scholar’s family comfortably through life. However, while Soldiers are celebrated, Scholars often hide in the dark away from fame.
--States of the South--
Erebia
When the oldest daughter of the royal family turns 25, the old rulers step down and become the royal advisors.
Solandeu
The capital of Erebia. A very large city.
Oligarchy of Kuelapia
While the land is surely an oligarchy, half the state is rural and the rich politicians of Eastern Kuelapia do not care much about the whereabouts and daily routines of Western Kuelapian citizens, as long as the portion of the state pays their dues.
The portion of Kuelapia that lies coastal and inland on the West is filled to the brim with mossy forests, historical ruins and beautiful grasslands. Most citizens live small, independent lives without many rules besides the yearly Kuelle Tax, and some gather in small cities scattered along the coastline.
Kingdom of Skrodia
Former enemies of the Hasangularian (Hasang) Theocracy, Skrodia’s once prosperous lands are now ridden with conflict. From its beginnings, Skrodia was highly unstable because of the authoritarian monarchy it upheld. From its beginnings, Hasang ideologies ruled Skrodia by claiming important positions in the government. Even before the year 903, which was when Hasang forces drove through the strong walls of Skrodia, “philosophies” in Skrodia were laws in Hasang. By the year 1000, Skrodia was subject to any word that Hasang priests uttered. Many of Skrodia’s cities are malnourished and violent. Both Hasang and Skrodian forces bring violence upon Skrodian citizens.
The City of Northreach
The capital of Skrodia. Previously wrought with political havoc, this city contains many different areas with disparate economic prospects.
Its citizens were once free for a short period of time before the Hasang Theocracy invaded the lands.
Northreach's Foundries and Associations
Hamato Tavern
Hamato, meaning “shrub” in Skrodian-Alos, has no apparent meaning behind its name. The tavern is owned by the Vae family, and is home to a wide series of Associations, due to its winding hallways and private rooms. Notably, the Hamato Tavern is friendly to the Sorrel-Silence League. The tavern was never famous for its law-abiding policies, and consistently and effectively dodges oppressive Skrodian law.
The Hamato has many bars, rooms, and public areas inside the building, but the most commonplace area for newcomers is the “famous” Harbour Bar. By far the largest bar in Hamato, the Harbour doesn’t take reservations, but doesn’t require much pay, either.
The Hamato is located far back in the alleys of Northreach. It’s not a very conspicuous building, for obvious reasons.
Sorrel-Silence League (SSL)
The SSA was originally founded as a communion for women in Skrodia in 413, when Skrodian women had little to no opportunity within the state. It’s mostly known as a gay women’s social club, but it’s not exclusive. The club meets in the Garden Bar, located in the far back of the Hamato Tavern. It hosts the Democratic Rebellion of Skrodia, and many of its members are politically active.
Town of Sapse
A village just south of Northreach, Skrodia. It’s a small fishing town. It borders the Chiya River and can be reached by taking a train out of Northreach and hopping on the Chiya Ferry across the river. Sapse is in a rather barren, dusty region, and its children enjoy taking part in baseball-esque games since there’s not much else to do. Like all small towns, word spreads fast. Sapse is eerily tight-knit, almost cult-like at times — the entire town is very old-fashioned and against modern philosophies. The hometown of Lura Seratelle and Theo Song, though neither reside there anymore.
Incarceration of Skrodia
Those indebted to the Kingdom are sent to brutal prisons in Skrodia, no matter the level of crime. Food in the streets is scarce enough; in the prisons, it is often a death sentence. The government can afford to support every Skrodian citizen; yet, the government refuses to allocate the funds.
Many prisons never allow their prisoners to leave. Short sentences are extremely rare and even small felonies can leave a citizen in desperate conditions.
Large prisons in Skrodia are often placed strategically outside of Northreach.
Skrodian Task Forces
Skrodian’s Task Forces are known as the cops to most citizens. Combined with the harsh and unproportionately violent forces of Hasang that supply weapons and officers to Skrodia and the state’s own tyrannical police force, the Special Forces of Skrodia are likely a citizen’s main fear. Surveillance is rife and rules are scarce for these Forcemen.
Housing
Distribution of resources is unimaginably rare. Those at high positions of power thrive in sprawling palaces and gardens far outside the more industrial cities. Lower and even middle class citizens live in tall, unsafe buildings in small apartments. High-rises are more common than anything else.
Politics
The aging Skrodian population enjoys a general peaceful conservatism. Those who follow a majority of the state’s oppressive ruling live with a lack of violent police action apparent in their day-to-day lives.
In secret, behind closed tavern doors and dark, old apartment buildings, a more progressive Skrodian culture thrives. Since the smuggling of tapes, records and videos began from Northern “freedom missionaries” (mainly Manyxi young adults, sparing for the occasional Bellesi or Kopian), many younger citizens have become politically active. Small democratic groups thrive in relative peace, but a majority of students partaking in Skrodian protest movements align themselves farther with social anarchism rather than government-regulated democracy.
Theocratic Society of Hasang
Officially the Hasangularian Theocratic Society, the state hosts the most infamous cult in all of Kibstolya.
Town of Huasis
Huasis is a town about an hour’s travel from the capital city of Hasang. It’s the hometown of the Sayus (see Roa and Sako).
Kingdom of Schalburg
Rather than progressing along with the rest of Kibstolya, Schalburg stayed slightly behind the rest of Kibstolya’s technology during the ruling party's "Keep The Peace" movement amongst the South's broad "Rapid Discovery" movement of the early 300s. Thus, they continue to remain technologically behind the greater South, as each ruling party picks and chooses the advancements the state gets to absorb, all the while aiming for a rhetoric of traditionalism.
Empire of Kicus
A rapidly expanding imperial state, Kicus claims the formerly independent Principality of Kimins as its vassal.
Principality of Kimins
Marbelville
The ‘official’ capital of Kimins. It is not really run by a government anymore, since there has been a fifty-year long exile of Kicus government officials with a full defense around every wall in the city. Unfortunately, the oppression left by the Kicus still lingers in the angry spirits of the Marbelian Kimin, as they often conduct violent campaigns directed at Kicus people who live outside the city. The area is often referred to as an active warzone, crime and gang violence being prevalent, yet small oasis groups still exist behind closed doors.
Siusen
Home to the
Kibstolyan Society of Linguistic Scholars (KSLS). The creation and expansion of this language is supervised by the Kibstolyan Society of Linguistic Scholars (located in The Siusen, Principality of Kimins). Admission to the high society is offered to graduate students of the Kibstolyan School of Linguistics (located in Scorchpost) if they have previously worked as a pre-college apprentice and made a significant linguistic breakthrough. When a graduate is offered admission, they must make the pilgrimage through every region and state to hear and study the different dialects. The KSLS is comprised of 21 people in the inner circle, representing every letter in Kibos. The society is also made up of pre-college apprentices and carriers.
Pre-college apprentices
Kids who said a word early on in life, so their parents dropped them off at The Siusen and never spoke to them again.
Carriers
Analysts — these people collect and analyze linguistic data
Messengers — messengers deliver updates to the rest of the world
Carriers are often injured or killed because everybody else in Kimins despises this society. It’s very obvious that they are carriers because they wear very specific robes. The robes are hot pink and yellow.
Inner Circle
They don’t really do much, but they have all the status. They get information from the analysts, including dialect shifts, which they then try to outlaw. They send the carriers to notify the people that it’s been outlawed, but then nobody follows the new rule and does it anyway. Being invited to be a member of the inner circle is considered the highest achievement in The Siusen. Everywhere else, it’s looked at as incredibly useless. Their robes are dark red and they wear silly shoes.
Ezluvan
Gaucoreal
Telren
Tsanya
Telrenese slum city. Home of Yuhin Taek.
Syoha [Archaic Scorcrest]
Castmoore
Castmoore is a city in the Southern Hemisphere of Kibstolya, located in Scorcrest. It is a vast, modern city that sprawls out over its wealthy, rich land. On the outskirts are farmlands that grow fruits and vegetables of the sort in abundance, and the inner rings of Castmoore might as well be the technology capital of the South. Skyscrapers stretching into the clouds cultivate technologies those of the Second Humanity might have only dreamed of. Speeding trains connect the wealthy rings of Castmoore while the sky-rails shadow over the slums.
Government form: Council/Mayor
Representatives in South Kibstolya Council: 3
Trade: All sorts of fruits and vegetables, technological inventions
Mayor: Mayor Glynne Nzo (F), or the Nzo family in general
Town of Canhêll [Archaic Canhallow]
Canhallow is located on the outskirts of Gatholar City in Scorcrest. Hometown of Maple Autumnthorne and Camilla Fuji.
Gatholar City
Gatholar City is commonly referred to as the Gathol. It is a large city that hosts all sorts of festivals.
Alsnah
Cinnabar Alsnah
The land in which the Cinnabar King came to manifest. A tired land from years of rebellion. An era of turmoil shielded by the press. Where technical innovation magnified the scope of advanced Alsnahi mech technology. Upheaval of the government and then a second awakening.
Laexin
The capital city of Cinnabar Alsnah.
Melria
A poor Alsnahei building-complex. The wood that the buildings are made of has softened due to the humidity. Often a place where travelers will take a brief rest, though there are many permanent residents. One such resident is named Emmie Kett.
Excerpt from the Geopolitics of Cinnabar Alsnah academic publication
An incomplete history.
Certain, if not most anthologies of Alsnahi politics fail to consider its geospatial proximities to the Telrenese oligarchy. This author will attempt to counter those pedagogies by examining not just the Capitols of Stormspell and Waishing of Telren and Alsnah respectively, but take into account the intercultural policies of bordercities such as Chui-lun-sang and Watei.
Both bordercities lie along the Forty-Fifth Trail, which primarily directs trade between Carcera Manyx and the El-Tsedre lands of Manyx's northernmost reaches. However, the Forty-Fifth Trail's southernmost expanse leads a traveller all the way to the fabled Hoa'ane City, which accepts traders from much further south. Therefore, the bordercities of Chui-lun-sang and Watei serve an important role in the transitional periods of Cinnabar Alsnah, serving as a glimpse of transition between the liberally inclined Carcera Manyxi people and the modernity-seekers of Hoa'ane City.
CHUI-LUN-SANG
Chui-lun-sang, nicknamed Chuisang by its residents as an attempt to soften the guttural Alsnahi-Kibos /ü/ sound to tired travelers, was once a down-on-its-luck landlocked town with no significant trade. After suffering from decades of drought, Chuisang's lonely farmers began to migrate outward.
Most Serene Republic of Palan
Under the hand of the vain Ramona Mersa, Palan must appear as the perfect state. Gifted with the title of Most Serene Republic, Palan seems like paradise when looking from the outside. But no one knows what goes on inside the twisted politics of the gloomy royal family, the Mersas.
Referred to as Palańia by natives. Natives are called Palańyo. (pah-yan-ya, pah-yan-yo)
One large city is Yxatj, but due to its unfamiliar spelling, it is called Satjah outside of Palan.
--Cultures of the South--
Kipa
Known as generic Divin culture.
Yithela
Carcer
Kierce
Agricultural and pastoral cultures of the Kuelapian hills.
Chyan
Often of the Tsi-xak. A common characteristic is a dislike of the KSLS, but that’s nothing new; no one likes the KSLS.
Atjiratan
Northwestern religious heresies of Northern Kopia and part of Belles. The Kipa Bellesi do not really have anything against them, and Kopia is so spread out that it doesn’t really matter to the Kipa and Yithelas what they do. They’re kind of nomadic, and like to sail. People say they dress up in Second Humanity clothing all the time, as to honor their war-torn ancestors. No one really knows if they’re actually related to the Second Humanity, though.
Xipelle
Xluouss
Tagap
Tsi-xak haters, basically. In recent years, the Tagap have slowly overtaken the Chyans. Aligned mainly as a political group, the Tagap were founded as a graffiti-producing Xlua’tam sect, revolutionizing the surrounding areas outside Marbelville, Kimins. They have since become far less revolutionary, and rather focused on administrative government over the lower entirety of the Kimins region, becoming quite secular. Absolutely haters of the KSLS.
Still, the remaining religious extremists of the Xlua’tam honor the Tagap as a fractured group of assimilation.
El-Tsedre
A reclusive group north of the Gilalelle. A break of Atjiratan's religion. Thalassocratic tendencies.
Ardepulle
Hasa
Of the Hasangularian cult.
Leitsa
Gilallele
A far north sect of secularist Belles and Manyxi.
